Alexander Banaszak
Alexander G. Banaszak of Markham, formerly of Harvey, died Monday at Ingalls Memorial hospital, Harvey.
He was born October 12, 1915, in Harvey and lived in the south suburbs 68 years.
The Rev. Ben Kantowicz, pastor, will read the 10 a.m. mass today at St. John the Baptist church, Harvey. Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park cemetery, Monee.
A retired steel worker and Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Banaszak was a member of American Legion Post 1169.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, three daughters, Bernadine Travis of Peotone, Barbara Toczek of Oak Forest, Carol Salazar of Markham; one son, Eugene of Frankfort; his mother, Katherine; two sisters, Dolores Kwasny and Rose Cebula, both of Harvey, two brothers, Walter of Posen and Stanley of Midlothian; 11 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
