Jack Parker Dobson, 74, of Martin, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Volunteer Community Hospital, Martin.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Bethel Church of Christ, Martin with Bro. Ricky Phillips and Bro. Eddie Hutchens officiating with Hornbeak Funeral Chapel Inc. of Fulton, Ky., in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Dobson was born Dec. 31, 1935, in Martin, son of the late Lee J. and Ora Dunn Dobson. He was served in the Tennessee National Guard. He was a founder of Dobson-Wright Pontiac-GMC, Mazda, Chrysler-Plymouth, Dodge dealership in Martin. He also owned several used auto dealerships, and purchased and developed business and real estate in the four-county area. He was a member of Martin Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Hannah Ferguson Dobson of Martin; and family, Mike Dobson of Nashville; David Dobson of Martin; Tony and Darlene Dobson of Union City; Jenny Dobson of Brentwood; Laura Dobson Harrison, Grant Harrison and Jack Harrison, all of Knoxville; Lee Roy Dobson of Antioch; Micky Dobson of Clarksville; Lance Dobson of Vandenberg Air Force Base in California; Parker Dobson and Jonathan Dobson of Union City; one sister, June Dobson Lee of Martin; and one niece, Charlotte Carroll of Martin.
