Samuel Elmer Carter, 66, a resident of Elkins, died yesterday. He was born in Durham and was a member of the Methodist Church and the Elkins Lions Club.
Survivors: His widow, Nellie L. Carter of the home; two sons, Jack and Jim, both of Elkins; one step-son, John Layton of Elkins; two daughters, Patty and Betty Gale, both of the home; two brothers, Eddie, Buena Park, California, and Dennis of Fullerton, California; four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Johnson, Brea Canyon, California; Mrs. Zora Fields and Mrs. Eddis Fields, both of Anaheim, California, and Mrs. Jessie Harris, Fullerton, California; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral held at the Elkins Community church. Burial at McCord Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
