Jerald Evangelist "Jerry" Beltz

OMAHA - Jerald "Jerry" Evangelist Beltz, of Omaha, formerly of North Platte, died March 10, 2007, in Omaha.

Jerry was an evangelist, pastor, husband, father, artist, and much more. He graduated from Arnold High School in Arnold, received his bachelors of arts degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and his bachelors of divinity degree from Central Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Kan. As an evangelist, Jerry traveled throughout the country and the world to reach people for Christ with his unique and effective gospel artistry presentations.

Jerry conducted revival meetings from San Diego, Calif., to Camden, Maine and from Texas to Washington. Jerry appeared three times in South Korea, twice with The Evangelical Alliance Mission and once with World Vision international, and he has spoken in Japan, Hong Kong and Canada.

Jerry conducted his own TV program on KNOP-TV, North Platte for 29 years. Jerry served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Albion, Neb., and the First Baptist Churches of Wellman and Bonaparte, Iowa. As a humorist, cartoonist, philosopher and inspirationalist, Jerry delighted audiences nationwide with entertaining and motivational programs for over 20 years. Jerry made three trips around the world, and served as a co-director for 14 tours to Europe and the Middle East.

Jerry leaves behind his wife of almost 31 years, Moon Yung (Yvonne) Beltz; his son, Jerad Beltz and his daughter-in-law Temre Beltz of California; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd S. and Jean Beltz of Minnesota; nephew, Rodney Beltz Minnesota; niece, Pat Walters of Minnesota; and cousins, Dottie Bowman of Kearney and Donzel Bowman of Bridgeport.

He is preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Alice; and twin sister, Jeraldine.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Harrison Street Baptist Church, 80 th and Harrison in LaVista with further services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Arnold. Burial will be the Arnold Cemetery.
