"Henry Thenstead(sic) Is Taken by Death"

"Henry C. Thensted Sr., 55, husband of Mrs. Ruth Walters Thensted, a natvie of New Orleans and a Biloxi resident 49 years, died this morning at 10:10 o'clock at the Veterans' Administration Hospital after an illness of two months. Mr. Thensted was a member of the Church of the Redeemer, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Wahabi Shrine Temple, Jackson, and the Coast Commandery Knights Templar. He serviced in the 155 Infantry during World War I and fought overseas. Mr. Thensted formerly operated a coffee business in Biloxi and for the past 17 years has been employed at the VA and Keesler AFB. Besides his wife he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Thensted, Biloxi; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald C. Wilson, Biloxi, and Mrs. E. F. Avrett, Wichita Falls, Tex.; a son, Henry C. Jr., USN, Charleston, SC; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Fountain and Mrs. Henry Agregaard, Biloxi, and a grandson. The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. from O'Keefe Parlors, followed by services at Church of the Redeemer by Rev. E. A. DeMiller. Burial will be Biloxi Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the VA color guard."

Arrelt of Wichita Falls, Tex., also Henry Thensted, Jr., U. S. N.; brother of Mrs. Henry Fountain and Mrs. Henry Agregaard of Biloxi, Miss.; also survived by one grandson, age 55 years, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Biloxi, Miss., for the past 49 years. Relatives and friends of the family, also officers and members of the Church of the Redeemer, V. F. W., the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Wahabi Shrine Temple of Jackson, Miss., are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place on Saturday, November 18, 1950, at 2:45 o'clock p.m. from the O'Keefe Parlors, 601 West Howard, Biloxi, Miss. Religious services at the Church of the Redeemer, Rev. E. A. De Miller officiating. Interment in Biloxi cemetery with full military honors."
