Amos Wertz Shaud, seventy, Washington Boro R1, died at home at 1:15 p.m. yesterday after a lingering illness. A life-long resident of Washington Boro, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary Alice Burgess Shaud and was employed at the Columbia Malleable Castings Corp.
A member of the Washington Boro Church of God, besides his widow, the former Eva Wilson, he is survived by the following children: Samuel, Arthur, Clyde, of Washington Boro; Bertha, wife of Merle Williams, Lancaster; Pauline, wife of Grant Billet, Red Lion; Ruth, wife of Herbert Hartman, East Petersburg; Grace, wife of Earl Frey, Ironville; and Betty, wife of Herbert Shertzer, Millersville. Twenty-four grandchildren also survive, as do these brothers: Benjamin and Harry, Columbia; and Edward, Spokane, Wash. (Lancaster New Era - Dec 7, 1946)
