Anita M. Hillenburg, age 69, of Rockford, IL died Thursday, March 1, 2012, in Rockford Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 29, 1942, in Centralia, daughter of Henry P. and Pauline (nee Porter) Brown. Married Thomas E. Hillenburg on June 23, 1961, in Rockford, IL. Employed by Warner-Lambert for 34 years, retiring in 2001. Anita was an independent woman and you could always trust what she said. She had a loving heart which was exhibited in many ways including purchasing Shriner Circus tickets for children who could not otherwise attend.

Survivors include husband, Thomas; sons, Greg Hillenburg and Doug (Sandy) Hillenburg; granddaughter, Ashley Hillenburg; sister, Ruth (LaVerne) Lenstrom; brothers, Herman "Bud" (Ann) Brown and Kenny (Peggy) Brown; sisters-in-law, Sue (J.C.) Rodden, Phyllis (Nick) Sherman, Bobbie (Foy Wayne) Gilliam, Reba Hillenburg, Billie Hillenburg: brother-in-law, James (Burl) Hillenburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by her parents; son, Thomas E. Hillenburg Jr.; brothers-in-law, Harvey Hillenburg, Charles Hillenburg; and baby brother, Henry.

Memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with visitation from 5 p.m. to time of service; her brother, the Rev. Herman A. Brown will officiate.
