Alpha Theta McLeroy, 96, passed into the Lord's arms on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Plano. Graveside Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 5, at Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado, Texas. Theta Cummings McLeroy was born April 19, 1915 to Dr. & Mrs. W.J. Cummings in Alvarado, Texas. She married John Otto McLeroy in Alvarado, Texas July 12, 1941 and lived in Dallas, Granbury and later in Plano. She graduated from North Texas State Teachers College (now known as The University of North Texas) in 1937. She taught in the Meredith and Alvarado Schools in Johnson County Texas. Theta was a member of the United Methodist Church in Acton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband John Otto McLeroy; parents, Dr. & Mrs. William Cummings; brothers, Maurice, Jay Frank; and sister, Gene. Theta is survived by sons, Ron and wife, Carol of Carrollton, Texas and Don and wife, Nan, of College Station, Texas; brother, Bill Cummings; sisters, Matilda and Polly; grandchildren, Lisa Weber and husband, Nate, Luke McLeroy and wife, Katie, and Andrew McLeroy; and 7 greatgrandchildren.
