She left her young daughter with her mother and traveled for awhile. Somewhere along the way, she married a man named Bohnstell, as on her marriage license of 1919 to Claude H Tucker her surname is given as Bohnstell. Her great-granddaughter Darlene has not been able to locate a marriage record for Cora and Mr. Bohnstell.
Cora had two children:
* Vina Ruth Lowe (1906-1982)
* Charles "Bud" Tucker (1921-2013)
She divorced Claude Tucker and spent the remainder of her years as a single woman.
In later years, she liked to sew and bake. She lived alone in Denver, and her daughter would visit her twice weekly (in the summer months bringing her granddaughters, Cora's great-granddaughters, along for the visit) to take her out to lunch and get her groceries. Great-granddaughter Darlene fondly remembers the freshly baked bread her 'Grandmama' would bake which she liked to sprinkle with sugar. She would occasionally get to spend the night and enjoyed 'sewing' on Cora's treadle sewing machine. Cora would make her great-granddaughters nightgowns and pin cushions for holiday gifts each year. The nightgowns were typically out of flannel and shaped like a muumuu -- cozy and comfortable for those cold Colorado nights!
She spent her last months in a nursing home in Boulder, Colorado (where her daughter and her family lived) where she died in 1978.
