Elmer Harry Cox, 85, of Martinsville, died at 4:25 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 1992, at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, with the Rev. George Nika officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held today, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m

He was born August 29, 1907 in Casper, Wyoming, to Alfred and Nevada Newlin Cox. He married Stella Dragoo on November 5, 1938. She survives.

He retired as a machinist from Marathon in 1970. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Texas, Clark County Shrine Club Past President, Clark Lodge 603 AF and AM, Ainad Shrine Temple of East St. Louis, Zorah Shrine Temple of Terre Haute, and Crawford County Shrine Club.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Melvin Cox of Farmersburg, Ind.; one daughter, Pamela Robinson of Martinsville; one brother, Melvin Lee Cox of Pennsacola, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Chandler, Az, and Alice Wilson of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
