JULIA MAE PEHL 1920-2010 Funeral services for Julia Mae Pehl, 89, of Driftwood (Rolling Oaks) will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with Fr. Patrick Gahan officiating. She died peacefully at 4:11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Mrs. Pehl was born October 7, 1920 in Bangs to Ruby Aubrey and R.D. Aubrey Sr. She married Walter Louis Pehl Sr. April 30, 1940 in Mason. A dedicated homemaker and mother, she loved cooking, especially cookies and cakes. She enjoyed music, loved playing the piano, especially old religious hymns. Her easy laugh and cheerful smile made her many friends. She also had a love for animals and nature, particularly bluebonnets. Survivors include her sons, Richard Pehl and wife Donna, of Fort Worth, and Walt Pehl Jr. of Driftwood; granddaughters, Tiffany Lawson and Kelly Pehl; grandson, Toby Pehl; one great-grandson, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Louis Pehl Sr., and brother, R.D. Aubrey Jr. Burial in St. Stephen's Cemetery will follow the services. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall. The family requests any memorials be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 6000-A FM 3237, Wimberley, TX 78676.
