Mrs. Eliza Belle Whipple, 85, of 2305 East Main street, died at her home at today at 5:40 a.m.
The daughter of Washington and Elizabeth Allender, she was born July 9, 1865, in Henry county. Her marriage to Addison Whipple took place September 14, 1882, in Mt. Pleasant. A resident of Ottumwa for the past 60 years, Mrs. Whipple was a member of the Pentecostal church.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1930, also three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Whipple is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Wright of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Maude Collett, also of Phoenix; and Mrs. May Miller of Ottumwa; two brothers, Frand and Ed Allender, both of Ottumwa; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. Allen Wood of the Open Bible church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
