Troy was a longtime Miami resident. He had three careers: the first, as a naval aviator in World War II and Korea; second, as an FAA Air Carrier Inspector; and third, his own private aviation consulting firm. Troy served on the Jet Stream FCU Supervisory Board (Emeritus) and had previously attended Mississippi State and the University of Hawaii. He was also a member of South Miami Masonic Lodge 308, Scottish Rite, MAHI Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star and Coral Gables United Methodist Church. Troy was predeceased by his loving wife, Norma and sons, Troy N. Thweatt III, David Edward Thweatt and James Matthew Thweatt. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Lee Thweatt; son, Thomas Wade Thweatt (Barbara); grandchildren, Kassie Baker, Troy N. Thweatt IV (Karri), David Charles Thweatt, Timothy J. Thweatt (Ashley), Susi Thweatt, Melissa Lang (Jeff) and Ashley N. Thweatt and great-grandchildren, C. J. Baker, Griffin Baker and Max Lang.
