Lillian Irene Alexander, age 80, of Rockton, IL died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, in Fair Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, South Beloit, after a brief illness.

Born Feb. 24, 1932, in Rockford, IL the daughter of Bernard and Constance (nee Robinson) Truitt. Married Duncan Alexander on June 13, 1948, in Roscoe. She was employed by Rockford Dry Goods, Village Apparel in Rockton, True Value Hardware in Roscoe, and was part-owner of Children's Creations in Rockton. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Women of St. Andrews Society and Rockton Woman's Club. She enjoyed bowling with the Rockton Pioneer League. She also loved to watch the Chicago Bears and Cubs. She attended Hononegah High School.

Survivors include daughter, Lillian Nielsen; and son, Brian (Dianne) Alexander, both of South Beloit; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents; husband; one great-grandchild; a brother and sister.

Funeral Ceremonies at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 511 W. Rockton Road, Rockton, with the Rev. Rick Wagner officiating. Burial in Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West St., Rockton. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 5, at McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton.
