He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Orella Smith Lanier; a son, Morris W. Lanier Jr, of Sulpher; eight daughters, Mrs. Richard W. Bruce, Mrs. Melba Miller and Mrs. William W. Lewis, all of Tioga; Mrs. Guy McFarland of Chateauroux, France; Mrs. Ralph W. Deason of Hicks; Mrs. O.M. Sanders of San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Brian Chelette of Colfax, and Mrs. Raymond T. Brown of Sulphur; three sisters, Mrs. Retta Nalley of West Monroe, Mrs. Pearl Lanier of Tioga and Mrs. Vera Daricek of Jonesboro; three brothers, J.H. Lanier of Tioga, O.C. Lanier of Richmond, Va. and J.O. Lanier of St. Louis, Mo; and 16 grandchildren.
Lanier's body is in state at Hixson Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Tioga Pentecostal church at 3 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
