We mourn the loss of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Irving Walter Gindy. Born August 30, 1924 in Cleveland Ohio. to David and Marie Gindy. Irv net and married his beloved Helen over 62 years ago and was her devoted husband until her passing in June of 2009. Irv Spent most of his life in San Antonio where he and Helen raised two children, Kenneth and Elaine. Irv passed peacefully in his home on March 2, 2012. He is survived by his son, Kenneth and his wife, Susan; his daughter Elain and her husband, Edwin; his grandchildren David and Tabitha, Abby and fiancé Michael, Jill and Elliott and Lisa, his great-grandchildren Mark, Alex Devan, Shayna, Jake and Josselyn. He was preceded in death by is beloved Helen, his stepfather Max and grandson, Mark all of blessed memory. Irv set an example of how to be a loving husband, father and grandfather for all of us to follow. Hw will be missed by all of his family, friends and community. Irving's family would like to give a special thank you to his caregivers, Angie, Ophelia, Rosa Linda, Yolanda and Vitas Hospice Care for their loving kindness and Special Care.
