STATESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Lamar Trapnell, age 88, died Tuesday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County. Mr. Trapnell retired from the Statesboro Housing Authority and was a member of Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II, and was a member of the Thompson Pasture Hunting Club. Mr. Trapnell was preceded in death by his parents, Algerine and Lula Trapnell; and his three brothers, Ray, Francis and Allen Trapnell.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Rushing Trapnell of Statesboro; his sister, Joann Trapnell Adams of Gainesville, Ga.; his sister-in-law, Julia Trapnell Kenan of Augusta, Ga.; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy and Hilda Rushing; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Elder Jack Anderson and Dr. John Waters officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Hodges-Moore Funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
