In 1880 Estep was a farmer residing near Adamsburg, PA. In 1900 Estep (Eslep) was a farmer residing in Sewickley Twp. In 1905 Estep traded his farm of 101 acres in Sewickley Twp. for the S. L. Woodward livery stable and $6000. Estep owned a fine Victorian house on the corner of Sixth and Vine Street in West Newton, PA. Late in 1907 his sister-in-law Rebecca Greenawalt wife of the late Col. Jacob W. Greenawalt suffered a stroke that robbed her of her speech and use of her hands. Unable to take care of herself, she was take in by Estep.
