RURAL KINMUNDY - Alice GIGAR, 76, of rural Kinmundy died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at her home.
She was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Boulder, daughter of John and Annie (NETTLE) REYNOLDS. She married Eugene GIGAR on Nov. 7, 1952, and he survives in rural Kinmundy.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Linda BORDER and husband Joe of Centralia, Terry CONANT and husband Alan of Salem, Patricia GIGAR of Kinmundy, Peggy SHULER and husband Dwain of Alma, and Barbara GIGAR and husband Bruce LAURITSEN of Guthrie Center, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Crystal KEE and Misti BORDER-WYNN of Olney, Amie SHULER of Kountze, Texas, Lisa MOTCH of Salem, Lori MALONE and Cory SHULER of Alma, and Jonathon and Anna LAURITSEN of Guthrie Center, Iowa; and 11 great-grandchildren, Jarrid KEE, Ocean WYNN, Griffin, Gracie, Gretta and Granger MOTCH, and Lily and Kyle MALONE.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings; and a great-grandson.
Mrs. GIGAR graduated from Sandoval High School in 1952. She was a lifelong homemaker and farmerd with her husband.
She was a member of Brown Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rankin Funeral Home in Salem. Interment will be at Sandy Branch Cemetery in rural Alma.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
