DIED. In this village, on the 15th inst., Mr. ABNER BAKER, Sen, also a soldier of the Revolution -- aged 91 years and 19 days. He was a native of Northampton, Mass., formerly a resident of Jefferson county, N.Y., and finally removed to this place, where he resided during the last nine years of his life. He was possessed of a hardy constitution and a vigorous mind, and, although the former was at last made to yield to "stern disease", the latter seemed to acquire increased activity till it was released from its prison house of clay.

He was naturally of a mild disposition and urbane manners; traits of character that were rendered still more lovely by the religion of Christ; a profession of which he made in early life, by uniting with the Congregational Church in Northampton. Emphatically he loved the House of God, and, till a short time before his departure hence, every sabbath found him in the sanctuary. In his devotion from day to day -- in his resignation, under affliction; and above all, in his calm and happy death -- is written the highest eulogy of his character. In God was his trust, and his language was "to they Great Name be all the Glory". The Patriot, the Soldier, and the Christian has gone. As a Patriot and Soldier, he felt for his country's wrongs, and fought in defence of his country's rights. As a Christian, he loved and served his God, and has gone to receive a Christian's reward.
