Ralph Beisser

Ralph Beisser of 118 Ridge St., Freeland, died Sunday evening at Hazleton General Hospital.

Born in Ohio (Ed: Zanesville), he was the son of the late Cleo and Forence (Bell) Beisser and was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Freeland, and VFW Post 5010.

Mr. Beisser was a World War II veteran and an airplane armorer. During his time in service, he received the American Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Before retiring, he was employed by James Carr Construction, New Jersey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rex; brother, Chester, who was killed during the invasion of Normandy; and a sister Mildred.

Survivors include his wife, the former Carmelita (Di Feo) (Stevanovich) Beisser; daughters Connie, Peggy and Karen; sisters Dorothy Cain and Blanch Drumm, both of Ohio, and Mrion Miller; and stepchildren Rose Marie Casazza and Joseph Stefanovich.

A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Cemetery, Drums, where interment will follow.

The McNulty Funeral Home, 407 Centre St., Freeland, is handling all arrangements.
