Glenna Sargent Hunt

Glenna Sargent Hunt, 85, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012. She was born on April 28, 1926 in Hoytsville, Utah to Joseph Andrew and Betsy Bell Sargent. She attended school in Coalville. She married Benjamin Verno Hunt on June 4, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Benjamin and Glenna moved to the Ogden area where she spent the rest of her life.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in leadership positions including three times as Relief Society President. Benjamin and Glenna served a full time mission in the San Jose, California Mission and as stake missionaries. Glenna was also a temple worker in the Ogden Temple.

Glenna enjoyed sewing, cooking and handiwork. She wrote beautiful poetry. She took pleasure in camping and spending time at Lava Ranch. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Glenna is survived by her husband, Benjamin Verno; sons, Dean B. (Becky) Hunt; and Mark S Hunt; daughters, Louise (J. Richard) Shupe; Joyce (Randall L) Sobieski; and Martha (Douglas C.) Saunders; 21 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
