Born at Carbondale, IL, Mr. Brush graduated from the School of Architecture at the University of IL in 1877. Some of his designs include the buildings of the Illinois Normal School, at DeKalb IL, and the Lee County Courthouse at Dixon, IL. He was a member of the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects from 1908 until his death.

Charles E. Brush, architect, died on Tuesday. He was born in Carbondale, Ill., March 17, 1855. He was a son of the late Col. Daniel H. Brush, on of the pioneers of southern Illinois. He is survived by his widow, Ida Fleming Brush. (Chicago Tribune; Nov. 2, 1916)

He died at 61 years of age.
