GILBERT E. WHITNEY JR.
Died Friday, Aug. 12, 1994, at 8:30 p.m. at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 79, a native of Lutcher and a lifelong resident of Baker. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Private graveside services were held at Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary, at 1 p.m. Saturday. Survived by wife of 51 years, Ethel Marie Chaney Whitney , Baker; two daughters, Marlene Greer, Dallas, and Susan Webr, Denham Springs; a son, Gilbert E . "Gil" Whitney III, Baker; four sisters; four brothers; and sixgrandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church Building Fund. Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, in charge of arrangements.
