A.L. Carman, 85, of St. Francis, Arkansas, was born August 25, 1926, in Leachville, Arkansas, to W. O. and Carrie Carman and passed away February 29, 2012, in Campbell, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Louise Byrd on November 2, 1946, who survives. Together they celebrated 65 years of marriage.

He was a member of the St. Francis Baptist Church and a beloved friend and neighbor to many.

He is survived by: his wife, Louise (Byrd) Carman, of the home; one daughter, Dian Book and husband Sam Book; two grandsons, Patrick Book and wife Ashley and Andee Book; four great-grand-children: Denver Book, Dixie Book, Clayton Coleman and Logan Coleman, all of St. Francis, Arkansas; two brothers: Harold Carman and wife Peggy of Paso Robles, California and W. C. Carman of St. Francis, Arkansas; one sister, Shelva Grindstaff and husband Glendel of Dexter, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sons, Jimmy Dale and Allen Lee; three brothers: Amel, Dale and Dewitt Carman; and one sister: Neoma Peace.

Funeral services were held in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel. Burial was in Gravel Hill Cemetery near St. Francis, Arkansas.
