MARY C. LEHMAN, 88, formerly of Tower City died Friday morning at the Tremont Health and Rehab Center.

Born in Tower City, January 25, 1917, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Boras.

She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry.

She was a member of the Mountainlight Four Square Gospel Church, Muir.

Mary was pre-deceased by her husband Hilbert M. in 1978.

Surviving are her son, Hilbert C. and his wife Marilyn of Weeki Wachee, FL. Three beloved grandchildren, Debra, Craig and Lori. Six great grandchildren. Three sisters, Helen Kovick of Philadelphia, Margaret Wise and Patricia Bailiff both of New Jersey. Several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Tuesday at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery - Muir.

Surname "Boras" in this family is not the original spelling. It was "Basarab", as is seen in an early family tombstone in Lykens, Pennsylvania. Andrew Basarab simplified it soon after he emigrated from Hungary in the early 20th century.
