Clara Mae Brewer Forsythe, 100, of Auburndale, Florida, died February 28, 2012 of natural causes.

Born June 2, 1911, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Sidney Brewer and Betty A. Brewer, she moved with her family to Auburndale in 1919. She graduated from Auburndale High School in 1929 and was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church there.
She and her husband Herbert owned and operated Herbert's Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Auburndale until his death in 1968. She later worked for and retired from Polk County Schools. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed flowers, singing, and playing the piano. All who knew her admired her joyous spirit and zest for life.
Clara Mae spent the last five years of her life in the wonderful care of the Masonic Home of Florida in St. Petersburg. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Anne Roberts (Charles) of St. Petersburg and sons Allan (Donna) of San Antonio, Texas, and Jere (Yeh-Fen) of Columbus, Ohio, as well as 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services for Clara Mae will be held at Kersey Funeral Home in Auburndale at 10 AM on Saturday. Visitation begins at 9 AM. Burial will be next to Herbert in the Auburndale Memorial Park.
