per internment record: John & Susan Kellam Hunter moved from Rockingham Co. N.C. to East Tenn. and they moved, probably with a short stay in Ky., to Putnam Co., Ind. With their sons John, William, Spencer, George, Christopher, Andrew, and Peter bought farms in Edgar Co., Ill. & Vermillion Co., Ind. John d 1832 and is one of the early burials in Spangler. Christopher and very young son Robert are buried in Spangler. He was a wagon maker and sold tombstones, listed in sale after his death. He m Amanda Allen of Tenn. After his death she m Albert Murphy. Joseph Williams, the father of Hannah & Amy the two wives of Spencer K. Hunter. Also several infants of John & Spencer Hunter, as well as in another part the dau of John Eliza Hurst.
Emiline Allen Hunter, wife of William Hunter is probably buried in Spangler. She died in 1855. There is no stone. William left for St. Louis where he died. There is children, mostly grown did not follow him. Some moved into Missouri and Kansas later. John Sr., son Peter & wife Charlotte moved to Platte Co., Mo. where they died 1840.
Spencer & John are buried in Paris, Ill. 1833 settlement of John's estate has signatures of all their children & spouses. Mary, wife of Robert DUNCAN; Rachel wife of Hiram CRABTREE, Book 2 Edgar County lists lands of these Hunters 1832 to 1837.
