The transcription index for the Old Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery gives dates of 08 Sep 1846 to 08 Aug 1916 for Sarah's vital dates, but her death certificate gives c1850 to 12 Aug 1915. I will use the 12 Aug 1915 date for her death. At the time of the 1850 census she was listed as three years old, so I will use the 1846 birth date from her grave marker.
Sarah married first to John Wesley Hauser (1837-1869) on 08 Mar 1866 at Forsyth County, North Carolina. When John's will was read in 1869 (Davidson County, North Carolina) he was survived by his wife Sarah and a son William A. L. Hauser. The 1870 census indicates a son, Lee Hauser, age 3. I don't know where John or son Lee are buried. Sarah and John were the parents of one known child, namely:
1. William A. Lee Hauser (c1867-???).
After John died, Sarah remarried to Joseph Franklin (went by Frank?) Swaim on 20 Jul 1879 at Forsyth County, North Carolina. Sarah and Frank were the parents of one known child, namely:
2. Charles Swaim (1878-1926)
In 1900 Joseph (b. Jan 1832), Sarah (listed as born Sep 1851, mother of two, one living) and a son Charles Swaim (b. Aug 1878) were living at Clemmonsville, Forsyth County, North Carolina. Charles (Charlie) Swaim (b. 24 Aug 1878, d. 11 Apr 1926) never married and is buried at the New Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
It is not known when Joseph Franklin Swaim died or where he is buried.
Sarah was a widow at the time of her death.
Links to Sarah's parents, her first known husband, one of her two known children and ten of her known siblings are included below.
