Bertie Collins, 92, died Wednesday at Metter Nursing Home after a short illness. The native and life-long resident of Tattnall County was a retired farmer and attended Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Laura Collins of Collins; two sons, Clifford Collins of Collins, and J. H. Collins of Lyons; four daughters, Lorie Anderson, Bertha Shuman, Adell Sapp, all of Manassas, and Janie Sikes of Metter; three sisters, Mae Collins, Ruth Connor, and Naomi Oliver, all of Collins; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday at Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Home, Cobbtown Chapel. Burial was in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
