Mardell L. Ertz, 89, of Hull, Illinois, died at 8:27 AM Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Barry Community Care Center in Barry, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Quincy Memorial Park in Quincy, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 PM Friday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ertz was born August 28, 1922, in Hull, Illinois to Angus and Hazel Moore Akright.
She was married to Delbert F. Ertz on December 24,1941 in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death September 6,2008.
Survivors include 3 children, Shirley Garner (Ralph) of New Canton, IL, Sharon Allensworth (Dana) of Alabama, Fred Ertz of Hull, IL, 4 grandchildren, Craig Garner, Lisha Fee, Troy Allensworth and Derrick Allensworth, 10 Great-Grandchildren, Trevor, Trent, Cali and Dakota Garner, Daken, Austin and Presley Fee, Ty, Justin and Bryanna Allensworth and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by 2 sisters; Marilyn Harbison and Marge Sturtevant.
Mrs. Ertz was a homemaker. She had also worked at area restaurants as a cook. Mrs. Ertz enjoyed camping and trout fishing. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and loved her kittens. Mrs. Ertz was a Baptist by faith.
