Funeral services were held for Mrs. Cordelia M. Sloan, pioneer resident of Roger Mills County, at Cheyenne Sunday January 30, 1955. Mrs. Sloan died Friday at her home in Cheyenne following a long illness.
She was born September 22, 1867, at McKinney, Texas. In 1892 she was married to R.F. Sloan at Thalia, Texas. They moved to Roger Mills County in 1898 and resided there since.
She was a long time member of the Nazerene Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eula Harris of Cheyenne and Mrs. Ruby Dorman of Sayre; two sons, Virgil W., Salina, Kansas; and Roy E. of Elk City; one sister, Mrs. Maud Galloway of Clovis, New Mexico.
Final rites were held at 230 p.m. at the Cheyenne Methodist church with Rev. Asa Wickens, Rev. J. D. Green and Rev. L.C. Summers officiating. Interment was in the Pie Flat Cemetery, Roll, Oklahoma with the Scroggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
