Nicholasville-James F. Ake, 77, husband of Ruth Gillum Ake, of East Brown Street, died February 26, 2012 after a brief illness. He was a member of Grace Community Church of the Nazarene. Additional survivors include a daughter, Bonnie L. Minix and her husband Osten Roe, a son, Ronnie Ake, a grandson Brian K. (Kristy) Minix, two grandchildren, Brent M. and Jarett W. Minix and a nephew, Johnny Whitmer. Services will be 1:30pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastors Andrew and Simone Twibell officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8pm today. Bearers will be Brian Minix, Osten Roe, Phil Parks, Jimmy Taulbee, Joe and Randall Gilliam. Honorary bearers will be Chuck Richardson and Ronnie Ake.
