LEO J. MORAN
Leo J. Moran, 70, of 243 Union St., died this morning at Putnam Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Cohoes, N.Y., Dec 31, 1901, son of Fred and Ina (Lesson) Moran. His schooling had been in Bennington. Mr. Moran was employed most of his life as a painter for local contractors.
He married the former Carmel Marcoux March 31, 1929 in Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Janet) Winslow of Noank, Conn; one grandson, Alan Winslow of Noank; one brother, Frederick Moran of Hartford, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Celia) Bergeron of Bennington and Mrs. Inda Lescoe of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Sunday at 1:30 pm with a prayer and in Sacred Heart Church at 2 where the Libera service will be offered.
The Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered Tuesday at 9 am in Sacred Heart Church.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Recitation of the Rosary will be Saturday at 8. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Chapel with burial to be in this cemetery in the spring.
If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home offices.
