Obituary: DAYRIES SR., WILLIAM R. "DICK" Died Saturday, Sept. 16, 1995, at his residence. He was 80, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Roads. He was a retired Exxon employee and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home 8:30 to 10:20 a.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, celebrated by the Rev. Maynard Hurst.Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Brian Von Gruben and Michele and Houston Northrop; a son and daughter-in-law, William R. "Rick" and Suzonne Dayries; two sisters, Nela Ruff and Blanche Shideler; and 14 grandchildren, Christy, Jerry, Angie, Matthew, Maria and Michael Von Gruben, Ryan, Kristen, Lindsey and Lauren Northrop, Chad, Ashley, Tre and Trent Dayries. Preceded in death by wife, Marie Evelyn Dayries; and an infant son. Pallbearers will be grandsons. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
