Mr. Dort Price, age 85, of Pearland, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 in Pearland. He was born November 5, 1926 in Harrison Town, Texas and had lived in Pearland for the past 3 years. Mr. Price was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. He was a retired operator for Shell Oil Company.
Survivors include wife, Cleo Price of Pearland; children, LaVonne Whitesides and husband, Johnny of Rosharon, Crystal Price of Pearland; grandchildren, Lt. Col. Gene Whitesides and wife, Michaelle of Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren, Barret Whitesides of Pennsylvania, Morgan Whitesides of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Ruby Adler and husband, Albert of Crockett; brothers-in-law, Dewitt Rains and wife, Joyce of Crockett, Jay Rains and wife, Joyce of Crockett; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by mother, Willie Harrison Price; father, Pleas Price; sister, Beila Alfred and husband, Elzie; grandson, Dean Ray Whitesides; sister-in-law, Dorothy Rains; brothers-in-law, Edwin Rains and Carl H. Rains; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Ada Belle Rains.
Funeral services for Mr. Dort Price will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ottis Byers officiating. Military graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the South Park Cemetery in Pearland with Rev. Russell Cravens officiating. Interment will follow. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Good Shepherd Fellowship Church, 401 S. 7th, Crockett, Texas 75835.
