OBITUARY JOHN MINNICH
John Minnich of Brookville died at the Ellsworth hospital at 5:00 oclock Wednesday morning following a brief illness. He was brought to the hospital late Monday evening and succumbed to a heart ailment.

The deceased was born August 10, 1868, and was 83 years, 3 months, and 16 days old at the time of his death. He spent a number of years in Holyrood where he was married and reared a family. In 1931 he was elected probate judge and the family moved to Ellsworth. He was elected county treasurer two years later and served two terms in that capacity.

Later he was united in marriage to Stella R. Bradford and from then until the time of his death he made his home in Brookville.

The deceased is survived by his widow; two sons, Dwight Minnich of Beverly, California, and Homer Minnich, of Wichita. One brother, Harry Minnich, of Thayer, also survives, as do nine step-children.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Brookville this Friday afternoon at two oclock, with the Methodist minister of that city in charge. Burial will be in the Ellsworth cemetery with a Masonic graveside service.

John, the oldest son of John and Martha Minnich, was born in Caldwell County, Ill., October 16, 1868. He came to Kansas in 1886, with his parents and lived at Thayer.
He was married to Luvan H. Hall, January 14, 1891. To this union two sons were born, Dwight of Berkelay, California and Homer of Wichita, Kansas.

The family moved to Holyrood, Kansas in 1900 and then to Ellsworth in 1921. Mrs. Minnich died in May, 1929. On November 6, 1933, he was united in marriage to Stella R. Bradford of Brookville.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his widow, two sons, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and one brother, Harry of Thayer, Kansas; four step-daughters: Mrs. Myrtle Lorenz, Mrs. Ethel Lorenz and Mrs. Bertha Sneath of Brookville; Mrs. Laura Sneath, Kanopolis; five step-sons, Chester Bradford, Brookville; Clarence Bradford, Lyons; Glenn, Lyons; Selva and Orla of Salina; also 21 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and one sister also preceded him in death. He also leaves to mourn a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a member of the Methodist church in Ellsworth, and a member of the Masonic Order for over fifty years.
Funeral services were held from the Brookville Methodist Church, Friday, December 28, at 2 p. m. by the Rev. Nevel Rezak officiated. Graveside services were conducted by the Ellsworth Masonic Order at the Ellsworth cemetery.

Born Oct. 16, 1868, in Illinois, Mr. Minnich had lived in Brookville for 17 years. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic lodge.

Surviving are his widow, Estella Ruth, two sons, Dwight, Berkley, Cali., and Homer, Wichita, and nine step-children.

Services will be at 2 pm Friday at Brookville Methodist church. Burial will be in Ellsworth cemetery. Masonic services will be held at the graveside. The body is at the Guy R. Ryan and Sons mortuary.
