Mrs. Arthia Swanson Funeral is Saturday


COLORADO CITY (SC) - Mrs. Arthia Swanson, 65, former Colorado City resident, died in Los Angeles, Calif. Sunday after an illness.


Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Zion Baptist Church here with burial in Mitchell County Cemetery under direction of Kiker and Son Funeral Home.


Mrs. Swanson was born in Milam County Nov. 13, 1903. She had lived in Colorado City 20 years before moving to Los Angeles in 1958. She was a member of the Payne Chapel Methodist Church.


Survivors include a son, Joe Rogers of Los Angeles; two brothers, Johnson Biggers of Colorado City and Carlie Biggers of Roswell, N.M.; two sisters, Sally Biggers of Roswell, N.M. and Bessie Rogers of Calvert, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
