Scharlene was a member of the Central High School Class of 1953 wherein she participated in many school activities and functions, including the Central Black Skirts and student council. She worked for a short time for Southwestern Bell Telephone. Scharlene was an avid bridge player and was a member of the American Contract Bridge League, wherein she became a Gold Life Master. Before moving to Las Vegas, she directed bridge games for many years here in Oklahoma City. Scharlene was a devout Christian and was active in the church in both Oklahoma City and Las Vegas.
Her husband, Lewis, who was at her bedside throughout her sickness, and whom she admired and loved until she was called away, survives her. She leaves behind: two children David Andrews and Sherri Andrews-Assaleh, and son-in-law, Magid Assaleh; her sister, Karla Wilson Harrington; three wonderful grandchildren, Alexandria, David, and Andrew Assaleh; dear and best friend Shelba Parmley and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church on December 2, 2010 at one o'clock p.m.
