Memorial services for Earl "Wayne" Jones, 73, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 18, 2004, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Cotton officiating. Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Wayne left this world to go home on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004. He was surrounded by his family at his home. He was born March 19, 1930 in Fannin County, Texas. He moved to the Lubbock area in 1943. Wayne worked as a maintenance mechanic for St. Mary's Hospital (Covenant Lakeside Hospital) for 13 years. Since 1948, he has been a loving and devoted husband to Dorothy Lambright. He was the inspirational father of a daughter, Kathie and husband, Tim Orser, of Lubbock; two sons, Wayne Jr. and wife, Nancy Jones, of Big Spring, and Earnest and wife, Kelly, Jones of Lubbock.

He leaves behind a sister, Rita Jo Melton of Lubbock; two brothers Mutt Jones of Lubbock, and Jack Jones of Bonham. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, 11 great-gran dchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
