Mamie Lorine Schnell Mamie Lorine Schnell, 89, of Austin, passed away on May 4, 2007, surround by those whom she loved. A life-long resident of Central Texas, Mamie was born Mamie Parten in The Grove, Texas, on March 3, 1918, to James Franklin Parten and Penelope Johnston. She married Owen Emmanuel Schnell in 1934 in South Austin, where they lived on Brodie Lane for 15 years and later near Hudson Bend on Lake Travis, where she lived for 32 years. She lived her life in service to the Lord and was a member of several churches throughout the years, most recently Marshall Ford Baptist Church and Bethany United Methodist Church. Mamie was kind- hearted and devoted and was always happiest tending to her garden and plants. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 64 years, Owen Emmanuel Schnell, who passed away in 1999, as well as sisters, Opal, Irma, Naomi and Lucille, and brothers Bob, Ernie, Earl, and Roy. She is survived by her son and wife, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Road at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, preceded by a visitation at 10:30 a.m. A burial service will follow in Johnson City.
