Gerald D. Brownawell, 95, of KCK, passed away Wed., Feb. 22, 2012 at Garden Terrace. Services will be at 10 a.m., Sat., March 3, at Resthaven Cemetery Chapel, in Trenton, MO. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 2, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association . Gerald was born on Nov. 26, 1916 near Spickard, MO, to Frank and Fern Brownawell. Gerald was a car inspector on the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years, and retired in 1981. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers for making Gerald's life more enjoyable. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years, Catherine, in 2004; his sister, Ilene McDaniel; and daughter-in-law, Eva Brownawell. He is survived by his sister, Mildred Stamper; sons: Jerry Brownawell and wife Judy, Dale Brownawell, Lowell Brownawell and wife Sue; grandchildren: Keven Brownawell, Jay Brownawell, Stephanie Leiker, Lori Brownawell, Leah Brownawell and Jamie Oswald; as well as eight great- grandchildren.
