Miss Bertha M Bliss Dies
Miss Bertha Maria Bliss, 63, died last night at her home, 57 Henshaw avenue. She was born February 1, 1870 at Gerren Island, N.Y., the daughter of William and Serena (Clapp) Bliss. Miss Bliss had lived in this city 15 years and had been active in Betty Allen chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Dorcas society of the First Congregational church. She formerly [lived] in Troy N.Y. and was a graduate of Emma Willard school of that city. Miss Bliss leaves two brothers, George Spencer Bliss of Lynn and Theodore Bliss of New York city, a niece, Mrs Donald McManus of South Peabody, and a nephew, Theodore Bliss Jr., of New York city. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 at the home, Rev Thomas B Bitler, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiation and burial will be in Bridge street cemetery. The burial will be private.

The funeral of Miss Bertha M. Bliss was held at the home, 57 Henshaw avenue, this afternoon, Rev Thomas Bruce Bitler, pastor of First congregational church, officiating. The bearers were Charles B Kingsley, Clifford H Lyman, Charles H Bowker and Oliver B Bradley of this city, Dr Theodore Bliss of New York city and George Spencer Bliss of Lynn. Burial was in Bridge street cemetery and was private.
