Byron D. Arrick, 83, 1012 Quarry Road, Marion, died on Monday at Bradner Village, where he had been a patient for 10 days. He had been in failing health for 18 months.
Mr. Arrick was born in Miami County and had been a resident of the Marion area for 40 years. He retired in 1962 from the Mississinewa Community School Corp. after 10 years of teaching. He was a member of the Indiana Retired Classroom Teachers Association and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Katherine; a son, Richard Camp, Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Irma) Duke and Mrs. Sarah Gossett, both of Marion; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Thursday at the Raven Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, with Rev. Donald B. Taylor officiating. Burial was made in Grant Memorial Park cemetery, Marion.
