Gene Golden was the hardest working man I ever knew. He could never sit still for long, he always had to be off and running. He always had something going, whether it be work, a pool game, fixing his truck or watching his favorite Western movies. He was never idle. He worked in the moving business for just about all of his life. He could lift a huge air condition or a refrigerator without blinking an eye. He was always there if you needed him to help you move, or anything else. Everyone says Gene had a heart of gold. He died on Monday, March 22, 2004, just as he would have wanted to, while at work, not being in a hospital or at home sick. He was cremated on March 24th and in a service on May 14, 2004, his birthday, his ashes were laid to rest with his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Golden at Forest Lawn.
