According to the "History of Walker Co. Its Town and Its People" by John Martin Dombhart, copyright 1937, page 242:
KEETON, WILLIAM, a pioneer settler of Walker Co., was born in 1812. He joined the Primitive Baptist Church at Pleasant Grove in 1844. In 1857 he moved to Blackwater Creek and there joined the Liberty Grove Primitive Baptist Church, remaining a member until his death on October 24, 1886.
