March 31st 1924 near Nebo, Illinois, age sixty four years, three months and 21days.
He was united in marriage on Dec. 23,1880 to Miss Virginia C. Bristow and to this union were born seven
children, two of whom preceded their father in death, the five remaining children are: H. E. Roodhouse, Ill., I. H.
Fayetteville, North Carolina, J. L., Mrs. H. Cavden and Mrs. Pearl Gehert all residing in Chicago, Ill., besides
the immediate family above mentioned he leaves eleven grand children, three sisters and brothers.
The deceased Thomas as all people called him was an honest hard working upright man and he leaves a host of
friends to mourn his sad departure. Thomas was raised and well and favorably known in South Pike and too
much good cannot be said of our departed friend and our whole community sympathizes with the relatives in this
their sad hour of bereavement.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Friday April 4, at 9:30 conducted by Rev. Hunter, and after a
short service conducted by C. C. Hank at the grave, all that was mortal of our friend was tenderly laid to rest in
the Hess cemetery.
