Mrs. Nancy C. Farris
Sunday evening, March 10, 1929 Mrs. Nancy C. Farris passed away at the home of her son, T. C. Farris, in this city, after an illness of about one week. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon. Rev. Wright of the M. E. church conducting the service, a choir of mixed voices singing. Interment was in the city cemetery. Surviving are five children, 15 grand children and 14 great grand children.
Nancy C. Moore was born near Linneas, MO., May 28, 1842, was married March 24, 1859 to James T. Farris, at St. Katharine, MO. To the union were born six children, Mrs. Anna L. Gephard, Ottawa, Kansas; E. A. Farris of Ava, MO.; Horace O. Farris of Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Ida V. Miller of Cotter; Thadeus C. Farris Of Cotter, and Mrs. Lillian A. Adams, deceased. James T. Farris passed away in 1888.
Mrs. Farris had been a resident of Baxter County for many years, the last several years in Cotter. She was a member of the Christian Church, of a retiring nature, a splendid character highly esteemed by all who knoew her.
All her living sons and daughters attended the funeral except Horace Farris of California and Mrs. Gephard of Ottawa. More distant relatives and many friends from various parts of the county were present. Many beautiful flowers testified to the affectionate regard in which she was held.
