Funeral services for Mrs. J. E. (Minnie) Powell, 81 822 E. Elm, who died in a local nursing home Saturday afternoon after a lengthy illness, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd H. Lambert officiating.
Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.
Mrs. Powell was born in Green County, Iowa and came to Enid with her parents at an early age. She and John Everett Woolard were married here in Enid and He predeceased her in 1941.
In 1944, she and John Emmett Powell were married and he preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1951. Two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Powell was an active member of the Central Christian Church until ill health curtailed her activities.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Orville (Geneva) Knox Enid; Two grandchildren: three great-grandchildren: a sister, Mrs. Lena Veeder of Enid: a half-sister, Mrs. Irene Res of Wichita, Kansas; a half-brother Lloyd McNeil of San Jose Calif.; a stepson Arthur L Powell of Oklahoma City; three step-daughters, Mrs. Gene (Lois) Sabin of Waukomis, Mrs. Mildred Armstrong of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Bob Netherlain of Ventura, Calif.; 10 step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
