Dargan Antween Beeco was born in Greenville, South Carolina. He was one of five children by Antween Betttix Beeco and Harriet (Hattie) A. Early (Earley). He grew up in the Chick Springs Area near Greer of Greenville County in South Carolina. Dargan Beeco married Bessie Irene Cox of Greer on April 25th, 1903* . They had 7 children, John Lonzo, Lillian Pauline, Lula Belle, Dargan Antween, Jr., John Bettix, Walter Hester, and Marion Lee Beeco. They had 3 children to die at an early age. Walter Hester died at age 12 while standing on a running board of auto and sideswipe by another car that did not see him.
Dargan was a farmer most of his life in Greenville County. After his Dargan A. Beeco's death, Bessie Cox Beeco married Cicero Pickney Brooks on July 5, 1925*. They had one child, Fred Charles Brooks.
Names are passed along to keep the memories of family. John Lonzo was name after John Cox, Bessie's father, Dargan Jr. name after his father died as infant, Bessie said chicken pox. Lillian Pauline after (Bessie's Aunt Lillie Birdie Cox), John Bettix was named John after John Joshua Cox (Bessie's Dad) and Bettix after (Dargan's dad) Antween Bettix Beeco.
After his death, Dargan A. Beeco was buried at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with his 2 children and near his ( Father-in-law)John Joshua Cox and( Mother-in-law) -Minerva Elizabeth Johnson.
Bessie Cox Beeco remarried Cicero P. Brooks and was buried by him at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
